No New Posts Spegna City Gym

The interior of the castle that serves as the Spegna City Gym is lined with stern-looking portraits of the Lualdi Nine, their solemn gazes staring at whoever crosses through the torch-lit halls. The shadows through the halls as the fire crackles and snaps can almost make the portraits seem alive, though few tarry in the halls long enough to see this trick of the light. All the halls lead to the same place eventually: The castle courtyard, where all battles take place. Stairs extend to the castle battlements, and challengers are advised to make use of the vantage point that the battlements allow. As this castle is only deceptively medieval and was actually built rather recently, it is situated on the top level of the city, and the full brunt of the desert sun can weaken an unprepared opponent even faster than the Gym Pokémon accustomed to the heat.

No New Posts Valuchi Square

A statue stands at the center of a plaza on the third level of the city. A circular rim is cut out from the levels above, allowing sunlight to shine directly onto the statue of Isabella Valuchi, one of the Lualdi Nine, wings on her back spread as if about to take flight. Perhaps due to the statue's inscription speaking of unity and allowing light to shine on all dealings with one another, Valuchi Square is a popular destination for those looking to trade Pokémon. Under the watchful gaze of Valuchi, it is said that any who would cut an underhanded deal will be struck with shame and guilt, and regardless of the truth of the legend, the area is treated with enough sacredness by prospective traders that few seem eager to "violate" the rules of the square.

No New Posts Era Rut Castle

Era Rut Castle was the home to the last monarch of Voletion, now modern-day Voluzione. Constructed out of orange sandstone, the castle walls appear to have gradients of deeper and lighter colors all throughout. Tattered purple and green banners bearing the heraldry of the Voletion Kingdom -- a Garchomp and a Tyranitar locked in battle -- hang upside-down as they have ever since the death of Voletion's last queen. The interior of the castle is mostly barren, looted long ago as the spoils of war or by desperate Voletion natives trying to protect the fallen queen's belongings from the conquering Lualdians. No one stops visitors from going inside the castle, but rarely do they ever find anything worth seeing other than the swirling designs of the sandstone walls.

Board Description
Spegna City
Newcomers to Spegna City tend to have trouble discerning modern from ancient buildings, as even the newest of buildings in the city are built to resemble a medieval town, albeit more multi-storied than true medieval buildings are. The cliff-top city overlooks the coast of Voluzione, and the difficulty of expanding outwards has instead resulted in the city constructing upwards. Cobblestone paths are built upon both roofs and stone pillars; lamps supply light to the lowest levels of the city, where very little sunlight can reach, and the perpetual shade makes the ground levels most bearable during hot summer days. Slopes, ladders, and stairs allow for navigation between the city's levels, and the city walls have entrances to all the different levels of the city, though some are residential-only and require showing identification to a guard to enter.
