Every week starting on Tuesday, the Champion Rout begins. This series of grueling battles is designed to "oust" the weakest of champions and have only the strongest remain. The reigning champion must defend their title, and everyone from former champions to upstart rookies with unusual promise try to take it from them. The road to participating in the Champion Rout is long and difficult, mired in paperwork, but anyone can bet on the results of a given match.
Betting RulesTo bet on a match, you must post who you believe will win and roll a twenty-sided die in a given Champion Rout thread. These threads are live from Tuesday to the following Tuesday, whereupon they are replaced by the next Champion Rout. During this period, you can decide who you think will win the match you're betting on, and you determine the results of the match by rolling a die using the built-in dice roller function on the forum (the dice icon at the top of a new post window).
Each combatant has different odds of winning and resulting payouts in the case of victory. Lower-chance battlers will have higher payouts should they win, but they have fewer "winning" numbers on a twenty-sided die compared to an established champion. These values will be listed in a Champion Rout thread so you know right away how much spruzzo you've won.
It costs nothing to bet, and if you bet incorrectly, you still get a consolation prize of 200 spruzzo.
You may only do this once per week. If you post on Wednesday, you cannot bet again until the next Champion Rout on Tuesday.
Posts do not have to be IC, but you can make them IC if you want. Feel free to write up how the battle goes based on your dice roll if you feel so inspired!
