Pokémon trainers come from all across Lualdi to test their mettle in the Gladiatore Stadium! Do you think you have what it takes to catch the spectators' eyes and reap the rewards of victory?
RulesIn a given Gladiatore match, you must declare your difficulty. Easy will give you an opponent that your Pokémon is strong against in some way, such as by having moves that are very effective against your opponent's type. Normal will give you an opponent that, ideally, will be perfectly neutral against your Pokémon in every way with no type advantages or disadvantages. Hard will give you an opponent that can easily wipe the floor with your Pokémon if you're not careful.
Opponents will be evenly matched in terms of level, so don't worry about that. Difficulty is based more on type advantages, disadvantages, or the level of strategy required to beat the opponent.
You may switch difficulties between matches or change up what Pokémon you're using. Just make sure to declare whatever you're changing.
All fights are one-on-one! For example, if you are training a Chimchar, a Dunsparce, and an Eevee, your opponent will have one opposing Pokémon for each of them. Once your Chimchar's fight finishes, send out your next Pokémon for its training, and so on until the match is finished. Because of this, Gladiatore opponents will not have movesets or strategies that rely on switching out to another Pokémon, such as by using Baton Pass or Volt Switch.
Consumable items may not be used in the Gladiatore Stadium; your Pokémon will be healed in between matches, and a Pokémon that faints is out for the rest of the match. Held items are fair game so long as they are not used for a strategy to make a battle go on forever.
Payouts are as follows:Easy victories grant you 100 spruzzo for each Pokémon defeated. Because these fights are deliberately skewed in your favor, a Pokémon will only get a maximum of one level from a given easy match.
Normal victories grant you 250 spruzzo for each Pokémon defeated. Being that these fights are tailored to be neutral for both sides, a Pokémon will get two levels for winning a normal match.
Hard victories grant you 500 spruzzo for each Pokémon defeated. These fights are very difficult, so a victorious Pokémon will get three levels for winning.
If you lose a given fight, you receive no spruzzo, but your Pokémon will still get one level.
Should you bring a Shedinja here, we will equip it with a special item that will allow it to take more than one hit in battle. However, this item also negates its Wonder Guard ability and replaces it with Levitate to make it fair for the opponent as well. Essentially, your Shedinja will be simply a Bug/Ghost-type with Levitate.
You can battle as much as you want here, but consider being a "referee" for other peoples' matches as well if you have a battle of your own going on. Give and take!
Fights can be creative, but play fair and reward Gladiatore combatants for their efforts.
